The meaning of "doom" is 'doom' and the metal that description is no exception. The doom metal is a subgenre of heavy metal that finds its origins in the 70's, along with editions of the early work of Black Sabbath. In fact, the generic name attributed in part to the song by the English band called "Hand of Doom" contained in their second 1970, "Paranoid." Some of the most notable doom metal are repetitive harmonies, rhythms, slow and long, dark environments, heavy riffs and distortions. This is sometimes supplemented by the use of instruments such as flutes, violins, harps, pianos and keyboards, whose purpose is to provide atmospheres and melodies to sound dense and dark doom metal. For its part, the vocal work of doom metal is usually done with clean vocals and mostly by male performers. In the case of mergers with other styles of metal, as is now known as Doom / Death metal, it is usual to resort to their vocal sound of the guttural voice.
